About the Contributors
Florian Kleinau, Ph.D., is the director and professor of the Master’s program in psychoanalysis at the GCAS College Dublin and teaches various classes on analytical psychology. He has published several papers and books, among others, The Broken Psyche Identity - [re]construction on Instagram and An Always Within an Never The Individual’s Position in the World. His writing spans the fields of Jungian psychology and philosophy. It applies Jungian Philosophy to Mythology, Ritual Studies, Social Media, Artificial Intelligence, Daoism, Mysticism, Psychoanalysis, and Neuroscience.
Heino Gehrts (1913-1998) was a German researcher of fairy tales, myths, and legends, working primarily as a private scholar. His work comprises more than 70 publications (1954–1998) and often ventures beyond academic boundaries. Uwe Schellinger and Sven Gallinat called him a scientific border-crosser. Gehrts combines meticulous source work with an orientation towards illuminating meaning (Sinnerhellung). Bringing ritual objects and anomalous phenomena (such as possessions, hauntings, and ghostly apparitions) into systematic, meaning-centred study – thereby crossing the boundaries between humanities, cultural anthropology, and the empirical sciences. He explores the meaning embedded in mythical and ritual expressions, as well as in devices that serve purposes beyond their practical use. Things and actions, for him, are primarily ceremonial objects and carriers of meaning (Sinnträger), not technical means.
Jennifer M. Sandoval, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist, lecturer, writer, and member of the executive committee of ISPDI (International Society for Psychology as the Discipline of Interiority). Dr. Sandoval is the author of A Psychological Inquiry into the Meaning and Concept of Forgiveness and co-editor of a book of collected essays, Psychology as the Discipline of Interiority: The ‘Psychological Difference’ in the Work of Wolfgang Giegerich, both published by Routledge.
Michael Conforti, Ph.D., is a Jungian analyst and the Founder and Director of the Assisi Institute. He is the author of Threshold Experi- ences: The Archetype of Beginnings and Field, Form, and Fate: Patterns in Mind, Nature, and Psyche (translated into Italian, Russian, and Spanish). His articles have appeared in Psychological Perspectives, The San Francisco Jung Institute Library Journal, Roundtable Press, World Futures: The Journal of General Evolution, and Spring Journal. XII Contributors Building on his work as an author and scholar, Dr. Conforti also maintains a private practice in Mystic, CT, and consults with individuals and corporations worldwide.
