Submission Guidelines

If you haven’t already, please provide a short synopsis of your essay along with your anticipated completion date before you start the process of writing your essay: undercurrentsmag@gmail.com

Please consider the following guidelines as you write your manuscript:

Length:
Ensure that the word count is between 3,000 and 10,000 words.

Thematic Focus: The work should be oriented toward psychology understood as the study of the soul. It can include an exploration of Jungian concepts, comparing different schools of depth psychology and or philosophy and religion, history of Jungian thought, personal crises, pathologies, neurosis, anxiety, depression, addiction, analysis of narratives (films, stories, mythologies, fairy tales), etc.

Restriction: Avoid political commentary; maintain an inward orientation. 

Title: Include a clear title and a subtitle that reflect the essay’s theme. The team may suggest refinements of these to ensure consistent tonality & formatting across the curated essays. 

Citations: For every reference, please provide the author and source.

References: Provide a list with all the source material you used.  

Quality: Check for any spelling or grammatical errors.

Format: You can provide one of the following formats: Word, Pages, PDF, or Google Docs. 

Visuals: If any visuals (figures, images, diagrams) are essential to represent key points, include them separately as a file (jpg, png, pdf, etc) and link the source (if it's not created by yourself). 

Contributor Link: If you wish, you can include a link to your works (e.g., books, prior essays), your official website, or professional social media account.
